So you’ve created an event, or a group program and you want to make it super easy for your people to add the event to their Google Calendar because YOU’RE A GENIUS.

This is a super smart thing to do because it makes their lives easier, and it will increase the turnout rate for your event. People need things to be easy and straightforward, or they simply won’t show up.

Follow these simple steps to create an “Add to Google Calendar” button to your thank you page and/or confirmation email.

First, Create a Public Calendar on Google Calendar.

  1. On your computer (can’t do it on a phone, sadly), open Google Calendar.
  2. On the left, next to other calendars click the ‘+’ > Create New Calendar.
  3. Call the new calendar something like “Events” or “[Program name]”
  4. At the top right of the Google Calendar Home, click the gear icon > Settings.
  5. On the left, under “Settings for my calendars,” click the name of the calendar you want to share, ya know, the one you just created.
  6. Under “Access permissions for events,” check the box next to “Make available to public.”
  7. Click OK.

Bam, your Public Calendar is Created!

Next, if you haven’t already created the event or recurring event go ahead and do that.

Make sure to include the Zoom details in the description! We love to make it easy easy easy.

And also make sure to choose the new public calendar as the calendar for the event.

Once it’s created:

  1. Click on the event in the calender
  2. Click the 3 dots > Publish event
  3. Copy the Link to Event (not the HTML)

Lastly add a button in your confirmation email and/or Thank You page, and paste the link into the Link field of your button.

That’s all!

Always make sure to test out your link in a different window on a different calendar so you can make sure it works!
